Mother/Daughter Elegant Photoshoot

When people arrive in my studio, my ultimate goal is to give them an amazing experience where they will leave and have had a fun, exhilarating day.  I recently did a shoot whereby the mother only wanted pictures of her daughters taken.  I managed to convince her to join in the fun and have her hair and make-up done and have a few shots taken with her daughters.  I even went as far as to convince her to borrow one of my black gowns for some rather elegant portraits of herself.  Below are some of the results.

Vintage Inspired Wedding Shoot at Château St. Ambroise in Montreal

A few months back, I did a vintage inspired wedding shoot at Château St. Ambroise in Montreal with the wonderful Fanny Wong and MUA Kitty Mann,  Here are some of the results of that shoot.  The enitre shoot was conducted with ambiant light only.  So no flash, a high ISO and at times a reflector.  Enjoy the results.

Recent Glamour\Fashion Shoots

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted any of my recent work.  So I thought that I would post some of that here to keep you all posted on my recent work.

Lately, I have been largely inspired by Sue Bryce and Bambi Cantrell.  These photographers are amazing and seem to be able to capture women at their very best.  I have been brushing up on my direction of models as well as how I pose them.  This has enabled me to drop the amount of pictures I take from about 450, in the hopes of getting a few great shots,  to 160 or so (which almost guarantees me 30 very good shots).  With me directing more, I am making the shots happen as opposed to hoping something comes up.  My sucess rate has thus increased by 100% or more.

I have also begun using lots of tulle, which to me is very feminin, lace and chiffon.  I love the way these flow and can bring out the best in a woman’s femininity.

I hope you enjoy some of my latest works.

Hanoi, Vietnam

My trip to Hanoi in Vietnam was very mind opening, at times intimidating (trying to cross the  street), destabilizing and above all amazing.  The people, the traffic, the food, the environment, the experience; all of it was beyond anything I could have expected and Lord knows I had done quite a bit of research before going.  I will share with you in this post and future posts my different experiences in the different regions of Vietnam.  How we fared, what we learned, what we experienced and above all give a voice to this wonderful, gentle, amazing and resilient people.  Please enjoy the voyage with me.

Vespas buzz by your feet. Advice given to us by the Vietnamese people. 'when crossing the street don't wait for a break in traffic for their isn't any, start crossing the steet at a steady pace. Do not increase or decrease your pace. The traffic will avoid you but only if they know and can gauge your speed' That was very encouraging to us.

Taking a break. The women street vendors are the lowest on the totem pole of sales people. They have a very difficult life often coming in from the surrounding villages to make money to send home. They will get up at 3am to go to the wholesale market to fill up their baskets. Then they spend the day on the streets in order to sell their wares and will not go home until everything is sold. Sometimes they are still out selling at 7pm. They manage to send home on average $20 a month.

50s Vintage Fashion or Retro Fashion Photoshoot, whichever you prefer

A few weeks ago I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Bobbi from Tarte Nouveau who is a creator of fastenator hats.  We thought it would be great to shoot these little hats on models as opposed to doing a catalogue type shoot that would just show case the hats.  In using models, we are able to show the public how these hats can be worn.

The day was very long as I live on the south shore of Montreal and Bobbi lives on the North shore, but once we reached our destination, the two models were ready and willing to do and try anything and any location to turn this into something wonderful.  We also must not forget Bobbi’s husband who was generous in feeding us both lunch and dinner.  He’s the type of guy a girl must hang on to.  However, I digress.

If you like what you see please do not hesitate to leave a comment, follow my blog or contact me.  As well, If you would like to obtain a wonderful little fastenator hat for yourself, check out Bobbi’s website at:  http://www.tarte-nouveau.ca/

Outdoor Lifestyle Shoot at Place Ste-Catherine

I recently did a lifestyle photoshoot at Plage Ste-Catherine’s Recreo Park.  It was a beautiful day, in an idealic setting and I was working with a beautiful, sweet model.  Emilie is great to work with and is willing to do what it takes (within reason of course) to get that perfect shot.  As you can see, I think we succeded in getting beautiful material to work with.  Hope you enjoy and please, feel free to share and leave your comments.
